Once again, it’s been a little bit since my last post. I just haven’t been writing much. I have only been grinding along lately. I go to work. I come home. The wife and I eat dinner. We do the necessary chores, and then I don’t do much else for the evening. I have just lacked the motivation to put words out. Maybe it’s the “dog days of summer” weighing me down? The hot weather at the end of summer can be quite oppressive here. I don’t know. Maybe this transition into fall will help.
I can’t say that I have been completely “unproductive,” though. I do spend time with my wife, and that is always enjoyable. I have, also, had a couple of Game Nights in the past few weeks. After a needed break and some… drama… Game Night has resumed with positive results. I just haven’t felt compelled enough yet to make posts about it here. I have no real excuse. I will likely put something together before too long, though.
So, yeah, I’ve been just grinding along through daily life lately. I think and hope that is about to change, though. I have a couple of things coming up that should kick life into a higher gear.
The wife and I bought kayaks. Hers is already sitting in the garage, but mine will not be here until November. We have been considering this purchase (not a cheap purchase, either) for almost a year now. We finally “pulled the trigger” after considerable research and discussion.
This is a pretty big step for us, too. We have never done any kayaking. She has done some canoeing, and I have been on many fishing boats. But the decision to go with kayaks was so that we each had a boat that suited us. We like to do things together, but we like doing our own thing, too. I think it will work out well for us.
I bought a fishing kayak. Why? I like to fish. Period. Getting on the water in a boat and not fishing is a foreign concept to me 😊 It really is. I like to float, but I have never been one to spend too much time on the water without making use of a fishing pole.
The wife got herself a slightly lower end kayak that is suited a little for fishing and floating. She likes to float and paddle around. She might fish some, but in the long run, she will just enjoy time on the water.
We are both looking forward to it. I will have to make a post or two about the kayaks and our first experiences when I finally get mine.
This time of year gets busy for us, too. The holidays are coming. There is always stuff to do this time of year. Getting ready for the holidays, and then having the holidays. Y’all know the drill. It keeps ya busy.
So, the “grinding along” thing should be coming to an end. Let’s hope so. I don’t like to leave those that enjoy my posts hanging.
Well, I’ll leave it here for now. Thanks for “listening”.
