Well… Hmmm

I try not to let this sleeping blog lie for too long. And now I feel like it’s been too long since I banged on the keyboard for this bloggy thingy.

So, here I am…

I have NOT been inactive on the keyboard, but… I haven’t been pounding out words 😳

I have been playing Valheim now and then. And I liked it 😈

I really have enjoyed the distraction. My buddy and I played a little. Then I started my own solo game. I have put a few hours into it. It’s a crafting/survival game with a Viking motif. It’s a lot like 7 Days To Die, the zombie apocalypse survival game, but it has a storyline you can go through. There seems to actually be an end game, which is something that 7 Days doesn’t seem to have. I think that is the current appeal.

But back to the bloggy thingy 😉

The past week or so hasn’t been bad. We did lose our chest freezer, though. The poor thing gave it up after about 15 years of service. So, the wife and I spent some time this weekend looking around for options. I think we have decided on one, and we’ll probably go get it this week some time.

It sucked losing all that frozen food. My wife estimates it was a few hundred dollars in frozen meats and meals we had in there. But since we don’t go into it daily, we did not realize it went kaputzky and thawed. When we went out there, we did not find frozen pork chops, chicken, pizza, and crock pot meals. Instead we found squishy meat, flimsy pizza and freezer bags full of liquid and ingredients that were no longer safe for consumption. What a drag.

Oh well.

I have not forgotten about the post for Game Night. It is going to be a rather large post, though. That’s why it’s taking me a bit. It’s a recap from when the adventure in the Kingdom of Welandar began. While it is quite watered down, I still wanted to provide enough to give some clue as to what it has been about. Maybe it will entice readers to go looking for my other posts… maybe not. But it is still quite a milestone for my gaming group and I, so I want to share it.

Work is… work. 😐 It is a struggle to want to help the customer but be limited by many factors that don’t seem like they should be factors. I’ll just leave it at that…

Anyway, if you’re reading this, thanks for stopping by. I will try to get that Game Night post finished up. I will also try to keep at least one post a week going.

Type to you later…

As always, if you like what you’ve read here, let me know by clicking that like button. It’s very much appreciated. If you have a thought, comment, or question, by all means drop, me a line. I love getting feedback. A dialogue is always better than a monologue.

  1. Oof, so sorry about your chest freezer! Losing all of those frozen meats and meals, especially in these times, really sucks! I hope you have a new one going already! And I can’t wait for that Game Night post (well, I can, but you know). Looking forward to it!

    Take care!

    1. We don’t have a chest freezer yet, but we’ll get one for sure. It was a shame to lose it, but it gave us almost 15 years of good service. We can’t complain about that.
The Game Night post is progressing slowly :-/ There’s other distractions, so I’m only writing a little at a time (like a paragraph or two at most at a time). Been busy at work, so I come home at night needing to rest a little. Things will smooth out again soon, thoug.
Thanks for stopping by. You take care, too.

  2. Too bad about the chest freezer, Scott. Will have to watch ours, as it will be 30 years old this Mat. God, 30 years we have been in this house. Sounds like a reason to celebrate. Stay well Scott. Allan

    1. We’ve been in our house since ’03. I don’t think we’ll be moving any time soon, either.
I can’t think of a reason not to celebrate something like that. We’ve apparently been where we want to be, or we wouldn’t be there, right? It is a sign of being content. Sure, I’ve got ideas about where I would like to end up, but where I’m at ain’t too bad. Have a good one.
